Nephropathy is the medical term for kidney disease. Kidney disease is one of the possible long term consequences of diabetes.

Approximately 30% of people with type 2 diabetes develop some degree of kidney disease, and the same figure applies to patients receiving dialysis treatment.

It used to be thought that people with type 1 diabetes were the group most at risk, but over the years research has found that the chances of developing kidney disease are the same for both type 1 and type 2.

The job of the kidneys is to filter the blood, removing unwanted matter and passing it out of the body in urine. One of the symptoms of diabetes is the need to urinate frequently. This is because the kidneys are filtering out the excess blood glucose that is not being absorbed due to a lack of insulin or insulin resistance.

If you have high blood pressure as well as diabetes, this increases your risk of kidney disease significantly.

Nephropathy is a gradual process and starts with what is called hyperfiltration. As previously mentioned, excess sugar in the blood draws with it water, which the kidneys then filter, resulting in the waste being removed from the body by urination. In the early stages of diabetes, because the amount of glucose is so high, the kidneys have to work hard and they become swollen. This is hyperfiltration.

This can very quickly become what is called microalbuminuria, so fast in fact that some type 2 diabetics will already be at this stage when they are first diagnosed.

Because the kidneys are working so hard, part of the membrane that contains the glomeruli capillaries which do the actual filtration, can become damaged and protein starts to get into the blood.

This can then, in 25-50% of cases, lead to a condition called proteinuria. This is a result of further damage to the kidney membrane, and levels of creatine and urea rise in the blood. When this stage is reached, total kidney failure is likely within 7 years.

The next stage is called advanced clinical nephropathy, which is basically more of the same, but levels of protein, creatine and urea entering the blood are much higher.

Finally, kidneys function at 10-15% of their required level, and kidney failure is imminent. The only options are dialysis or a kidney transplant.

However, all of this can be avoided by controlling blood sugar levels, blood pressure and blood fats. Nephropathy is often caused by personal neglect when diabetes is diagnosed, and is completely avoidable.

One of the best ways to help improve your overall health and slow the progress of MS is to get your diet under control. This is not to say that the occasional cheeseburger is going to hurt you, infect there is something to be said for the benefits of pleasurable indulgences such as this, but you need to get in the right frame of healthy eating habits and stay there as much as possible. A healthy body begins with a healthy diet and a healthy body is what you need to fight this disease.

These heavy metals can be found in your water, beauty products medicines and food. Make it a point to begin paying attention to what you are consuming to reduce the impact of heavy metals in your life.

Congenital syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease present in-utero and at birth, and happens when a child is born from a mother with syphilis. Uncured syphilis fallouts in an elevated danger of a dreadful result of pregnancy, which includes Mulberry molars in the fetus. Syphilis can also lead to miscarriages, stillbirths, premature births, or death of the newborns.

A number of infants with congenital syphilis present symptoms at birth, but the majority build up symptoms later. Uncured babies can have deformity, delay in development, or seizures together with loads of other dilemmas such as rash, swollen liver and spleen, fever, jaundice, and anemia; and sores on contaminated babies are contagious. Seldom, the symptom of syphilis goes unnoticed in infants so that they build up the symptoms of late-stage syphilis, which includes harm to their bones, eyes, ears, teeth, and brain. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 40% of births from mothers with syphilis are stillborn, 40-70% of the survivors will acquire infection, and 12% of these will afterwards die in early life.

This is a compartment of cases of inborn syphilis; as newborns may present no signs and symptoms and are only recognized on regular prenatal screening. If not recognized and cured, these newborns develop meager feeding habits and rhinorrhea. By description, premature congenital syphilis happens in children between zero to two years old. Following, they can increase overdue inborn syphilis. Those symptomatic newborns, if not stillborn, are born untimely, with swelling of the liver and spleen, pneumonia, skeletal abnormalities, and a bullous skin disease termed as pemphigus syphiliticus.

Manifestations of children with syphilis include abnormal X-ray, Hutchinson’s triad, which is a set of symptoms composed of Hutchinson’s teeth (centrally notched, widely-spaced peg-shaped upper central incisors), deafness, and interstitial keratitis or an irritation of the cornea which can lead to corneal blemish and probably blindness. Another would be Mulberry molars wherein sixth year molars with manifold badly developed cusps; under developed maxillae, enlarged liver and spleen, skin rash, petechiae, anemia, sabre shins, jaundice, lymph node swelling, and pseudoparalysis. Also consider the rhinitis that when chronic can lead to saddle nose defect; linear scars at the viewpoint of the mouth and nose resulting from bacterial contagion of skin wounds; swelling of the sternal end of clavicle in late innate syphilis. Death from inborn syphilis is typically because of pulmonary hemorrhage.

When a pregnant mother is recognized infected with syphilis, therapy can successfully avoid congenital syphilis from mounting in the unborn child, mainly if she is cured prior to the sixteenth week of pregnancy. The child is at maximum danger of acquiring syphilis when the mother is in the premature phases of infection, but the infection can be passed at whichever point throughout pregnancy, even during delivery. Though, a woman in the secondary period of syphilis reduces her child’s peril of emergent congenital syphilis by 98% if she receives cure before the end month of pregnancy. A distressed child can be cured via antibiotics same with an adult, yet, any developmental signs and symptoms are expected to be lasting.

To avoid passing the disease to your child, make sure you get routine check-ups at STD clinics especially if you are sexually active. This will ensure that your child will not suffer the possible complications of this STD.

Children and adults with debilitating diseases like multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s and Lou Gehrig’s disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS) undergo a gradual reduction in their body’s ability to perform voluntary muscular functions. They are slow diseases without cures. Today’s treatment generally consists of medications and techniques to slow down the symptoms of the disease and the degeneration of the body. Scientists are not quite sure what causes these diseases; though there are cases that show that a small number of sufferers may inherit them.

Multiple sclerosis is a disease that causes the immune system of your body to consume the protective covering over your nerves. This leads to irreversible nerve damage. The degree and impact of the disease relies on which nerves are affected. The disease can develop at any age, but generally strikes those between 20 and 40 and women over men. Though the effects are fleeting in the beginning, those with MS will experience a gradual deterioration. A positive attitude is just as important to the treatment of the disease as any medical therapies.

A shortage of dopamine in the brain is the cause of Parkinson’s disease. This chemical acts as a messenger, so low dopamine levels mean that signals in the brain are not getting through. Parkinson’s typically shows up mid to late in life as a tremor in one hand. Men are affected more often than women are. Gradually, it affects speech and movement, causes muscle rigidity and can even impair memory and involuntary movements such as blinking. It is thought that ongoing exposure to pesticides and herbicides may increase the risk of Parkinson’s.

While those with MS or Parkinson’s can live a long life with the disease, those with Lou Gehrig’s disease do not. ALS causes the nerve cells in your muscles to die over time. Symptoms begin with slurred speech or a twitching of the hand or foot. Eventually ALS patients lose all muscle function, including the ability to chew, swallow, speak or breathe. Most ALS patients will eventually require the use of feeding tubes and breathing apparatus to sustain life. ALS also significantly increases the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Many people who develop ALS die within three to five years after contracting the disease due to respiratory failure. It typically strikes people between the ages of 40 to 60, and more men than women are affected.

These diseases are often hard to detect and are not discovered until the definitive onset of symptoms. Since there are no specific tests available and the early symptoms are generally mild and are shared by many other ailments, diagnosis is a long and stressful process. Maintaining a positive, healthy attitude during diagnosis and treatment, as well as trying to retain as normal a life as possible is vital. Drug therapy, combined with movement therapy and traditional physical therapy help to drastically improve the quality of life for these patients. The use of aids such as walking aids and motorized chairs can prolong the period of independence and functionality as well, allowing patients to experience greater satisfaction with their lives.

What is the connection between cancer and heart disease?

Besides being two of the most deadly diseases in America, claiming over 1 million lives each year, is there a causal connection between the two?

The answer is an astounding “Yes!”

Both cancer and heart disease result from a breakdown in the immune system, and both have viral infections related to each disease.

Without the normal protections of the immune system, cancer and heart disease slowly, stealthily and surely eat away at your health, over the course of many years, until they finally spring the trap that comes as such an unpleasant surprise to so many hapless, heedless sufferers.

Going back to the source of these twin troubles is impossible, for most researchers, simply because they automatically dismiss from their consideration the very thing which creates these, and so many other modern illness plagues today.

Everyone knows that good dietary nutrition is the source of a healthy, functioning immune system.

Few know exactly what good dietary nutrition is, on the other hand.

Most assume that if they follow some government-promulgated “food pyramid,” or similar advice, that’s all they need to know or do to maintain optimal health.

Nothing could be further from the truth…

Why?

Because nothing in the designations of food types and groupings addresses the primary issue of quality.

When it comes to diet, sufficient quantity of each food group is assumed to be all that’s required to maintain good health.

So the store shelves are lined with plenty of choices presumed to be nutritious and healthy — merely because: “So many others select and eat plenty of them, so why shouldn’t I?”

Well, if you don’t mind getting the same results everyone else is getting, go ahead and indulge yourself, with unthinking abandon, in all the glut of manufactured “foods” and “drinks” presently marketed (most of which didn’t even exist ten, twenty or thirty years ago).

Some few have even been around for the better part of a century — none of which means they are actually good for you — which is certainly no indication of their real value or worth.

In fact, modern fatal diseases have grown and exploded onto the scene at the same rate such packaged, adulterated, “enriched” and processed “foods” have been made and promoted to a gullible, easily sold public.

Your great-grandparents would never choose to eat such things as are commonly ingested today (then again, we didn’t get where we are today based on any common sense handed down from prior generations, so perhaps they would).

They had their own demons to conquer, like a general lack of cleanliness and personal hygiene, blood-letting, and the like (oh wait, regular blood-letting is still practiced, only today it’s called “samples” to run tests upon, giving results which tell us nothing about the causes or possible real cures for what ails us).

A world full of modern conveniences isn’t necessarily a healthier world.

The growing number of deaths from virulent diseases tells us this much.

If your desire is to escape such dire results as these, perhaps you should start looking into what most don’t care to know, that reveals the actual root cause behind all this suffering, anguish and waste of lives.

Just as negative thoughts can poison your attitudes and actions, even more so do junk “foods” trash your immune system.

And here’s a real eye-opener: What most consider “good food” is really nothing less than disguised junk in pretty packages.

Given a choice between these and natural alternatives, not even vermin would choose to eat the way most people do today.

Those that consume the same “foods” most believe are “healthy” or “nourishing” today, usually wind up suffering from many of the very same diseases, birth defects and even infertility rates as their human counterparts.

Any way you slice it, the “staff of life” is no more, replaced by the double-edged, white as cancer, sword of death loaf of diseased, manufactured junk posing as “good food.”

Overfed and malnourished is America’s self-imposed curse, where adulterants of every kind and description pervade what’s left of once-organic — but now mostly lifeless — grocery store offerings in alluring packages, replete with bold but deceptive promises, misdirecting and confusing “facts” and worthless claims, flashing misleading titles and names.

Not a very healthy foundation upon which to build our national or personal posterity.

So long as this Madison Avenue-inspired lunatic mindset prevails, the twin evils of cancer and heart disease will continue wreaking vengeance upon an unwary populace
