The organ that plays a vital role in losing unwanted weight is our liver. It performs a function that breaks down fats to prevent it from accumulating in the liver that adds more weight to our body. If these fats continuously accumulate in our blood, the liver will have a hard time in eliminating toxins and will eventually cause blood clot that can cause heart disorders. There are many factors that cause damage on our liver. These may be the chemicals found in your home or workplace, medicines, unhealthy diet like large consumption of processed foods. Once the different parts of the body starts to malfunction, the liver is damaged and needs to be cleansed to bring it back to better condition to perform its functions well. A functioning liver is a good way to eliminate fats in our body that will prevent the cause of other disorders.

It is very important to give our liver extra care for it to be able to regulate the cholesterol levels properly. It will also allow the manufacture of good HDL cholesterol that will reduce the risk of having heart disorders. The liver has the capability of regenerating and starts to work well again but once it is overloaded, it cannot perform its function in regeneration. To help the liver maintain a good condition, it is vital to follow proper instructions of a liver cleansing procedure and maintain a proper diet and regular exercise.

A good liver cleansing diet that will help in removing unwanted fats can be very simple without spending much of your budget. To start with losing weight and conditioning your body for your liver cleansing, reduce the consumption of dairy products, processed foods, starchy foods, alcoholic drinks and caffeine. Avoid taking up medications that is not prescribed by your position to prevent the liver from damages.

It is advisable to consume right amount of meat, poultry products, fresh fruits, fresh green vegetables, nuts and seeds. Also, consume foods with adequate amount of vitamins, minerals, and fiber to help in eliminating fats and harmful toxins from your body easier. Do not forget to drink lots of water and other fresh fruit juices. As much as possible, consume pure water to prevent toxins to add up in your liver. It is also important to have a regular exercise that will help in metabolizing fat in your body system. Maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise must be continuous even after a cleansing diet and as much as possible, you also maintain a regular a cleansing program to maintain a healthy liver for an energetic lifestyle.

I was enraged after reading that a report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. It quickly became clear how prominent the abuse of children really is. Of course there are so many negative short-term effects of child abuse, including bruises, cuts and broken bones. But there are also numerous long-term physical effects that we should all be made aware of.

One type of abuse common among children that really is painful to learn about is Shaken Baby Syndrome. I always knew that Shaken Baby Syndrome could lead to death, but according to ChildWelfare.gov, “The injuries caused by shaking a baby may not be immediately noticeable and may include bleeding in the eye or brain, damage to the spinal cord and neck, and rib or bone fractures.” These conditions can lead to even more serious long-term ailments including blindness, mental retardation, learning disabilities, paralysis and cerebral palsy, among others.

Child neglect can also cause long-term impaired brain development. When I read the following quote from the ChildWelfare.gov Web site, I was shocked: “Child abuse and neglect have been shown, in some cases, to cause important regions of the brain to fail to form or grow properly, resulting in impaired development.” What’s really sad is that these impairments can affect the cognitive, language and academic abilities of children. Basically, a child who has been neglected may grow up with disadvantages. This doesn’t have to be the case, and can be prevented!

One’s physical health can also, in the long run, be affected by child abuse. More than one study has proven a correlation between a dysfunctional household (where child abuse often takes place) and poor overall health. These health problems include allergies, bronchitis, high blood pressure, ulcers and asthma, and can persist well into adulthood. It is crazy to learn that coming from an abusive home can lead to health problems which are seemingly unrelated.

There are so many more ways that childhood abuse can impact a person. From psychological damage to behavioral consequences, abuse during childhood can lead to a vast array of difficulties.

Make no mistake about it: The effects of child abuse are devastating and far-reaching. Child abuse is more than a few broken bones. It’s a heartbreaking but true reality that coming from a dysfunctional and abusive home can really impact a person physically for his or her entire life.

Detoxification is actually a procedure. It is the procedure of cleaning your body from toxins. These toxins could be substances like drugs, alcohol or smoke or everyday toxins like pollution and smog. This is mostly known as detox and involves cleaning the skin from pollution and the body from unhealthy diet.

If we are talking about drugs, you should know that the procedure is focusing on removing the drug substances from the body and relieving withdrawal symptoms. It doesn’t include therapy of the mental and social factors that initially made the person take drugs. It only focuses on the body. Patients that are addicted to drugs and suddenly stop using them feel many symptoms that derive from not using drugs any more. These symptoms are intense and serious and they are what makes the addiction so strong in the first place. They might be similar to the feelings of the first usage. Drug detoxification is trying to limit these symptoms and relief the patient. This is usually done in three stages.

First there is the evaluation stage where doctors see which substances the body is addicted to. This is helpful to choose the treatment that the person needs. The second stage is stabilization. This is the actual part of the procedure. The patient gets help through the rather difficult time when the body has to adjust functioning without drugs. This is the stage that most people are afraid of and makes them drop out of rehabilitation programs and so it is very important to have help and guidance. There is also the alternative to give some kind of medicine to alleviate the symptoms and this is commonly done. The third stage is to give further guidance to the patient. Now that the body is working normally again, the patient must address the issues that made him an addict in the first place. The same procedure is adjusted to people with alcohol addiction. People with alcohol addiction should seek help as increased alcohol intake alters brain’s functions in such a way that it is dangerous to undergo treatment without professional medical help. As with drugs, the psychological issues should also be addressed to help the person that has the problem.

If we are talking about diets, the subject is rather confusing. Primary the term detox diet is used to describe a diet that promises to remove toxins from your body. The diet has limited portions of food basically only fruits and vegetables and all of them propose an increased intake of water or tea. The diet is proposed to people that had recently an increased consumption of processed food or have gone through a period of simply eating more than they should. It is characteristic that these diets are commonly seen in periods after holidays, for example after Christmas.

The main argument for these diets is that most doctors agree that they don’t actually detoxify the body. The body has mechanisms that remove toxins and a diet can’t offer anything more.

Natural internal cleansing is a practice more people should turn to for better health. In the modern society our bodies are bombarded with toxins from the air, water, chemical products and more. It is not easy to stay to a strict diet year around, but if you can do a natural internal cleanse even once a year you will help yourself greatly. There are a ton of gimmicks and fads out there, so I just wanted to list safe known ways to do a natural internal cleansing.

Water

You hear it all the time I am sure, but water really is one of the best ways to cleanse internally. We are all made of between 55 and 75 percent water, and every system in our body relies on water to keep things going smoothly. You lose water through urinating, bowel movements, sweating and even breathing (your lungs exhale between 2 and 4 cups of water a day). Usually your body is a good indicator of when you get thirsty and need to drink water. Although when you get older it is harder for your body to tell, so there is the old 8 glasses of 8 ounces of water a day rule.

Fiber

Eat more dietary fiber! Fiber is a great natural internal cleanser; there are two different types of dietary fiber. First is water soluble fiber and that helps prevent cholesterol and fat from being absorbed into the body. Second are water insoluble fibers that help with digestion. They help prevent irritable bowel syndrome, constipation and diverticulitis. Studies show people that consume high fiber diets get rid of waste faster than those on a lower fiber diet. High fiber makes everything work smoother internally; it also grabs and releases toxins on the way out. Fiber is also great for weight loss and cholesterol. Highest fiber foods are:

-Bran Cereal
-Split Peas
-Lentils
-Beans
-Avocado
-Oats
-Brown Rice
-Green Peas
-Broccoli

Herbs

Herbs are a great source of cleansing and many cultures and nutrition experts recommended herbs. They are great for cleansing the liver, the main filter for the body that neutralizes chemicals from the environment, creates bile and filters blood. Some good herbs for detoxing are:

-Garlic is Anti-Inflammatory, Anti-bacterial, Anti-Cancer, Anti-viral, Pro Cardiovascular and much more. This herb/vegetable is great for natural internal cleansing.
-Milk Thistle is great in protecting the liver from free radical damage and helps with treating alcohol damage, hepatitis and cirrhosis.
-Dandelion is great for the brain and liver.
-Burdock is high in antioxidants and great for detoxing & cleansing.

Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and Vegetables are best taken fresh and not as a supplement. There are many different combinations of vitamins and minerals you get eating fresh that you cannot get in supplements. Fruits and vegetables with all the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants help with overall optimal health.

Those are some good options for natural internal cleansing that should help you become healthier overall. Cleansing and detoxing will help everything from your brain, skin, bones, blood, weight loss and more. So even if your not up to cleansing full-time, try it more often and you will feel the benefits.

We have all heard the cry “Cleanse Your Colon!” But do we really need to do this as much as certain people recommend? The reader will have to decide this for themselves. There are so many different colon cleanse program options out there that range from the simple to the complex and challenging. With all this information ot can be difficult to decide what to do and if this is really the right process for you. So what do you do about this?

There are many different ways to use a colon cleanse program. One of the simplest is simply to regulate your diet and get more fruits and vegetables into it and cut out the sugar, salt, white flour, processed foods and change to a more natural way of eating natural foods. It is just that simple. You will be surprised at the results from just a sensible diet change and not going through all these ridiculous programs that may do more harm than good for your body. While having a clean colon is vital, you do not need to go overboard with it.

You have to have at least one bowel movement per day in order to keep your system clean and that is the basis of many different types of colon cleanse program options that are available to you on the market. But can you honestly believe the hype about each type of program? Advertising and hype can make you believe that a program will do what it says, but there are some things to watch out for when taking this sort of thing for a clean colon.

Not all colon cleanse program ideas are safe or even viable for many people. Granted now and again your system may need a little help, but some of the program claims are just totally imaginative to say the very least and unfortunately some contain ingredients that can sacrifice your health if you do not know that they are there. Why pay someone for a program to cleanse your colon when you can do it yourself by using the diet described above? That is the true question here to deal with. Are these programs even safe to use?

It will depend on the colon cleanse program that you are taking a look at. One thing to do would be to consult your doctor or physician about these before taking them. They can better advise you on what would be the best to take or if just a simple thing as a dietary change would be the better idea for you. Many of these programs do have the right goal in mind, just go about it the wrong way and with herbs that really are not the safest in the world to use for all people. The old adage “when in doubt, check it out” still applies especially to something that you may be taking for colon cleaning.
